ABOUT / THE AUTHOR

About the artist

An ongoing practice across painting, calligraphy, text and music.

PRACTICE

From words and materials
to different forms.

The artist works with painting, calligraphy, text and music. Painting is a significant part of the practice, with images often composed in a square format. Calligraphy is written with a Chinese brush on yellow talisman paper, usually in long vertical formats.

A text can therefore exist in several ways: as words to read, as a calligraphic image or as part of music. Meaning, the visual form of writing and the unfolding of sound are brought into relation through the practice.

Process videos document and describe how works take shape. Theoretical discussions of multimodal art ask how relationships between works are formed, and who may choose, generate or revise their rules.

This introduction is based on the creative information supplied by the artist. An approved artist credit, full statement, portrait and biography will be added when available.

ABOUT THE FIELD

Multimodal Field

Multimodal Field brings together works, process documentation and theoretical discussion, while making space for future relationship experiments and connected broadcasts.

Visitors may enter through any form of expression. Images retain their own viewing space, texts can be read independently, and sound begins at the visitor’s choice. Relationships between forms need to be described specifically.
