RELATE / EXPERIMENT IN PREPARATION

Relationship Experiments

When image, text and sound meet, how do relationships arise, and who decides?

A proposed path for participation

  1. Choose materials

Choose from images, texts and sounds made available by the artist. A category may be left empty. Any random selection will have its rules stated separately.

  2. Connect or disconnect

Connect two selected elements, replace one, remove a relationship or leave them independent. A partial connection should specify exactly which two elements are linked.

  3. Choose whether to keep a result

Private exploration and public sharing are separate. Before any future saving feature is used, its content, purpose, visibility and deletion options will be explained.

PARTICIPATION

Refusal
is also a choice.

Participation is not an obligation. Visitors may choose not to listen, not to form connections or simply to leave. Refusal will not be treated as consent to publish a record of a work.

Whether an action generates something depends on whether it actually changes the work’s state. Likes, choices without consequences and suggestions about rules do not automatically amount to co-creation or rule revision.

What each experiment needs to explain

01

Materials & sources

Which works are included? Are there existing connections made by the artist? How may the materials be used?

02

Control & rules

What can the artist, visitor and program each change? Which version of the rules applies?

03

Results & feedback

Does an action affect only a personal view, or a shared state? Is it saved, and when does it take effect?

04

Revision & withdrawal

How can someone leave, raise a question or request deletion? Does offering a suggestion include any actual authority to change the rules?
